Students
The environment is everything around you – the ground that you are standing on, the trees that you sit under to shade you, the water that you swim in and clean with and the air that you breathe. We use the environment to survive – we use water and soil to grow food to eat, we use water to drink, we use air to breathe. We also use the environment for our leisure activities – we can swim at the beach, walk in the bush or play in the park.
A clean environment is very important as it is more enjoyable and healthier too! Nature can handle a certain amount of waste, and in time the environment can become cleaner, but when people create too much pollution, the natural balances of life are upset.
This section has information and resources for primary, secondary and tertiary students and teachers.
