2006 Ecological Footprint banner competition
Announcement of the winners
The theme of the banner competition was ‘Reducing our Ecological Footprint at home, at work or at school’.
Students from Victorian primary and secondary schools designed large vertical calico banners and decorated them using a range of paints and materials with messages about reducing our impact on the environment.
Eleven banners were short-listed as finalists:
Secondary section finalists:

- Melbourne Girls College :The Pathway to Perfection
Primary section finalists:
- Croydon Hills Primary School: Save The World For Our Future
- Eaglehawk Primary School: Hope
- Glenorchy Primary School: Don’t Drive!
- Haddon Primary School: The Incredible Greenie
- Kangaroo Flat Primary School: You can do it
- Mildura West Primary School :Save Our Planet
- The Patch Primary School: Do Your Part
The finalists were displayed at the Southbank Complex from the 16th – 27th October 2006 and the public was invited to vote for a ‘Peoples Choice’ Winner during this fortnight.
At an awards ceremony attended by students, teachers and parents held at EPA Victoria on the 27th October the winners of the Primary school section, Secondary school section and the Peoples Choice were announced.
