Business reference group


Environment Protection Authority Victoria’s Business Reference Group was formed in October 2011. The group is made up of industry association representatives that represent the interests and views of businesses and duty holders impacted by the Environment Protection Act 1970.

The group’s main function is to provide advice and input to EPA that supports:

  • a healthy environment for a livable and prosperous Victoria
  • EPA’s CEO and Chairman in successfully delivering the EPA 5 Year Plan for the Victorian community
  • improving levels of compliance across industry, whilst working to achieve a level playing field
  • EPA to understand and address industry barriers toward compliance
  • EPA to shape effective policy and operational activities
  • opportunities to partner in the development and delivery of ‘inform and educate’ and ‘support to comply’ programs
  • two-way communication channel between industry and EPA Victoria.
