Committees
EPA Audit Committee
The EPA Audit Committee is responsible for financial reporting, risk management, internal control systems, organisational performance and the organisation’s ethical development. It also assists in maintaining good governance.
The committee comprises three independent members and an internal appointee and reports to EPA Victoria’s chairman and chief executive officer.
In 2009, the independent members were the chair, Mr Hugh Parkes, Environment Protection Board member, Ms Barbara McLure, and Ms Megan Boston.
EPA Victoria’s solicitor, Mr Mark Payton, was the organisation’s internal member. Five committee meetings were held between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2009, with each member attending all meetings.

Executive committees
A number of executive committees guide EPA Victoria’s corporate direction on a range of issues.
The Authority Committee deals with statutory decisions, including works approvals, licences and sustainability covenants, as well as prosecutions for breaches of the Environment Protection Act 1970.
EPA Victoria’s strategic direction is the focus of the Executive Management Committee, while the Finance Committee is concerned with compliance and performance issues and the organisation’s financial position.
The Information Management and Technology Committee deals with strategic issues relating to information technology infrastructure and information management systems.
The Occupational Health and Safety Committee comprises employee and management representatives and looks at incident trends, procedural development and strategic approach.
