Snapshot of our year

Sometimes we had to get Heavy:
There are times when we have to prosecute organisations that breach the Environment Protection Act 1970. In addition to holding polluters to account, the penalties imposed are often also used to fund environmental projects.

We helped save Victoria’s resources:
We continued to promote Environment and Resource Efficiency Plans (EREPs) – an innovative regulatory program to help Victorian businesses meet climate change and resource scarcity challenges.

We streamlined your waste regulations:
We introduced new regulations to encourage you to capitalise on the economic and environmental opportunities of resource efficiency through avoiding, reducing, reusing and recycling industrial waste.

Carbon innovators roundtable:
We realised that other carbon neutral businesses would be encountering similar issues as we worked through our carbon neutral strategy, so we invited them to our Carbon Innovators Network roundtable to tackle these issues.

We cut red tape with our corporate licences:
We removed just over half the licences you require by introducing new corporate licences in a major contribution to the Victorian Government’s objective of cutting red tape and improving environmental performance.

We introduced a new business model:
We introduced a new client relationship management approach to better serve our clients across Victoria.
