EREP seeks to assist businesses to realise both the financial and environmental benefits of resource efficiency. Part of this is building the capability of people in participating sites, through resource efficiency training, guidance, references and case studies.

How to prepare an EREP

Using the EREP Toolkit as a guide, the EREP Team ran workshops to help EREP businesses understand how to prepare their EREP. The workshops showed businesses how to conduct a site assessment and identify opportunities to improve resource efficiency.

EREP guidance

The EREP Guidelines and Toolkit on the right hand side of this page can help you prepare your EREP. A summary of EREP requirements PDF file (130kB) and suggested timeframes (for participants to meet the December 2008 EREP submission deadline) is also available. Templates can be accessed by logging in to the EREP online system.

Waste management training

A waste management workshop, delivered by Sustainable Learning Australasia in September 2008, helped EREP participants to improve their waste management knowledge, including;

  • categorising and measuring wastes
  • identifying waste reduction opportunities
  • undertaking a waste assessment
  • best practice waste reduction and recycling options

Individual assistance

The EREP team can provide businesses with advice on preparing their EREP, using the EREP Toolkit and other resource efficiency information or EPA services. Participating businesses should contact the EREP team to discuss how to get the most value out of preparing an EREP for their site.
