Self-Assessment, Registration and EREP Submission

Self-assessing your resource use

EPA has developed a calculator that can be used to help businesses better understand their energy and water use.

You can use the self-assessment calculator to determine whether you exceed the EREP energy and/or water use thresholds and therefore need to register and participate in the EREP program.

Self assessment is anonymous and can be used to calculate resource usage for one or multiple sites. You do not need a password to access the self assessment tool, however if you  proceed to register for the program you will be prompted to create a user name and password.

Registering for the EREP program

Registration is now open for the 2007/08 financial year. Sites that used more than 120 ML of water or 100 TJ of energy  in 2007/08 must register by 30 September 2008.

Sites that registered for the program in 2006/07  are not required to re-register.

Businesses that know their resource use is over the EREP thresholds can register for the program by entering  company details and their resource usage (energy, water and waste) for the last financial year.
You will need to create a username and password the first time you use the registration system.

Applying for exemptions and extensions

The registration system also enables you to apply for any exemptions from the program or the need to prepare an EREP.

If you think you might be eligible for an exemption , please contact the EREP team on 03 9695 2722 or erep@epa.vic.gov.au before application to discuss your eligibilty.

All applications for exemptions for 2007/08 EREP program participants need to be made by 30 September 2008.

Submitting an EREP

Participants in the EREP program need to submit a plan (an EREP) that includes actions to improve resource efficiency at their site. Participants can submit an EREP online by logging into the EREP system. Use the same  username and password created during registration.

The EREP system allows users to update their registration details and baseline data, select an appropriate resource efficiency indicator, develop an action plan and upload supporting documentation. Data can be saved at any point and returned to at a later date – allowing participants to ensure that they have met all requirements before submitting their final plans.
