Accredited licences

Download an Accredited Licensee application form, guidelines for the application or guidelines for Environmental Management System Certification.

The accredited licensee system is designed to provide companies having sound technical and environmental management systems, together with the commitment to good environmental performance, to be freed from the standard prescriptive approach to works approval and licensing.

To be an accredited licensee, the overriding requirement is to demonstrate a high level of environmental performance and an ongoing capacity to maintain and improve this performance.

An applicant for accreditation must be the holder of an EPA licence, have a certified Environmental Management System, an endorsed Environmental Improvement Plan, an Environmental Audit program endorsed by an EPA appointed environmental auditor (industrial facilities) and have a good environmental record.

Before applying for accreditation, applicants should arrange to discuss their proposals at an early stage with their EPA regional manager or client manager.
