National Pollutant Inventory (NPI)
The National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) is a database established to provide the community, industry and government with information on substances being emitted to the air, land and water, and transported in waste. The inventory tracks the magnitude of emissions and the amounts transported in waste of 93 substances. EPA has the responsibility for implementing the NPI program in Victoria.

NPI in Victoria
EPA has the lead role in managing Victoria's NPI implementation program and a strong commitment to the NPI as an important mechanism for providing environmental information to the Victorian public.
How to report
Larger Australian industrial facilities are required to provide emissions estimations to their state authorities. In Victoria, facilities should send all reporting information to EPA.
Online reporting
A new OnLine Reporting system (OLR) has been developed by the Australian Government which enables registered users to complete and submit their NPI report(s) online.
