Pilkington established its first Australian office in Melbourne in 1879, an unbroken 127-year relationship. Today the company has global revenue of €4 billion with manufacturing sites in 24 countries on five continents and sales in 130 countries.

In Australia, Pilkington employs 1,480 people nearly half of whom are employed in Victoria. Victorian operations include Australia’s largest float glass manufacturing plant and mirror, laminating and toughening lines at Dandenong. Six further processing operations are located in Victoria.

This Covenant is an agreement between the four parties to work together to:

  • support Pilkington to increase the resource efficiency of its products and services in a way that provides business growth; and
  • inspire Victorian businesses to achieve sustainable growth by demonstrating the impressive economic, environmental and social benefits of this approach.
