Amcor and EPA reach agreement
EPA and Amcor have reached a conciliatory agreement following VCAT negotiations recently regarding pollution abatement notices issued to Amcor with regard to offsite odour and stormwater management issues. In acknowledging the odour issues at the site, Amcor has agreed to take action to manage impacts on the community and EPA will amend the pollution abatement notices to reflect these commitments. Amcor has publicly committed to closing their Alphington facility upon the successful commissioning of its new plant in Botany, which is intended to occur by not later than September 2012.For more details click here.
