Shell Clean up Notice
On 29 May 2009, Shell Australia reported to EPA a spill of crude oil from an underground pipeline at its Geelong Refinery. The leak has affected land owned by VicTrack. The pipeline was isolated and the spill stopped on 3 June. Shell has responded quickly to this incident, and has fully co-operated with EPA in managing the situation.
EPA is investigating the cause of the leak. EPA has issued a Clean up Notice
