What about current odour issues?
EPA has received a number of reports from the community in regard to odour from the site and the current level of cover on the stockpiles. Under the 62A Clean Up Notice, adequate cover must be maintained to prevent offensive odour and visible dust off the premises. The standard to be met by SPI Networks (Gas) Pty Ltd (SPI) is offensive odour and visible dust off the premises, with the level of cover sufficient to achieve the standard. EPA has routinely undertaken surveillance of odour and dust from the premises, and the level of cover. EPA is of the opinion that the current level of cover over the stockpiles is not sufficient and has directed SPI to improve the cover as a matter of urgency.
