Air monitoring at Brooklyn year 2: November 2010 to October 2011

Air quality in Brooklyn improved significantly during the second full year of air quality monitoring compared to the previous year. However, more improvements are required. A study analysing the composition of the PM10 found all compounds monitored were measured at levels below the human health guideline used for assessment. Poor air quality generally occurs in Brooklyn on weekdays, particularly mornings, when the ground is dry, during strong and persistent northerly winds.
