Proposed amendments to waste transport certificate provisions in the Environment Protection (Industrial Waste Resource) Regulations 2009

The Environment Protection (Industrial Waste Resource) Regulations 2009 (the Regulations) are central to regulating prescribed industrial waste in Victoria. The Regulations seek to ensure an efficient, robust and safe process for the management of PIW while streamlining regulatory controls when a PIW can be used as a resource. EPA proposes to amend the Regulations to: - clarify the beneficial reuse provisions (including supporting guidance); and - embed the waste codes (and other technical codes) directly into the regulations. EPA welcomes comments on the proposed changes to the Regulations and the accompanying draft beneficial reuse guideline.
