Working together to reduce red tape
EPA Victoria’s strategy and current initiatives
In alignment with this strategy, EPA Victoria is seeking to work closely with business and other stakeholders to reduce the administrative red tape burden on business, while maintaining the highest level of protection of the environment.
To this end, EPA Victoria initiatives such as:
- Corporate Licensing
- WasteCert
- Electronic Landfill Levy Returns
- Ballast Water exemptions
- Reform of the Environment Protection (Scheduled Premises) Regulations 2007
have already delivered a saving in administrative burden of over $3 million per year, and when fully implemented will result in a saving of approximately $7 million per year.
EPA Victoria is also currently in the process of further licence simplification and reform of the Prescribed Industrial Waste system.
