Why do I need to register to report litterers and smoky vehicles?
We need your name, address and contact details in case we need to contact you concerning the report. After the registration, you will have immediate access to the reporting pages for both smoky vehicles and litter.
The next time you want to report a vehicle or a person who has littered from a vehicle, you can go straight to the reporting pages and log in.
EPA reserves the right to block access to the site if it appears that a false name has been registered.
We may need to contact you to obtain further information about your registration details. Please note that a postal address; that is, a PO Box; is not acceptable.
Who has access to my details?
Your personal information is strictly controlled by EPA in accordance with privacy legislation. EPA considers that your details are exempt from release, unless you give consent, should a Freedom of Information request be received. While we require your name and contact details to accept a report, in case we need to contact you to clarify your report, they are not provided to the owner of the vehicle that you have reported, to the person who has littered from a vehicle or to any other third party. In some cases, the offender may wish to exercise their right to have the matter heard in court at which time we will contact you to discuss the matter further. As part of the court proceedings, you will be required to give evidence at which time you would have to identify yourself.
Is there a cost for registering?
No, registration is completely free.
I've forgotten my password. How do I access the system?
The login page provides a facility whereby if you included your email address with your registration details, then you can request an email be sent to that address with your login details. If you didn't include an email address or it is no longer current, then please contact EPA on (03) 9695 2664 or send an email.
My contact details have changed. How do I change them on the system?
Once you have logged in, there are menu options available to update your contact details or your password.
