To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2019, EPA Victoria brought together some of Victoria's leading female scientists for a livestreamed event on Monday 11 February.

Hosted by Victoria's Chief Environmental Scientist, Dr Andrea Hinwood, the event featured a keynote address by Dr Marguerite Evans-Galea, co-founder and CEO of Women in STEMM Australia.

Following the keynote address was an interactive panel facilitated by Dr Bridie O'Donnell – Head of the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation. Panellists included:

  • Dr Amanda Caples – Victoria’s Lead Scientist
  • Dr Gillian Sparkes – the Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability Victoria
  • Dr Andrea Hinwood – Victoria's Chief Environmental Scientist
  • Dr Angie Bone – Victoria’s Deputy Chief Health Officer.
