EPA’s new website is under construction. It contains links to our previous site while we add information.

A reference group is a group of people EPA sets up to consult with us on environmental issues. EPA partners with reference groups to help prevent pollution and waste’s risks to human health and the environment.

We learn about community and industry’s environmental concerns through reference groups. Reference groups’ input helps EPA shape policy.

EPA works with six industry reference groups. The groups cover many industries, including waste and recycling, small business and water.

EPA also works with a community reference group. Individuals, members of local environment groups and environment experts form the community reference group.

Our reference groups include the:

  • community reference group
  • water industry reference group
  • small business and manufacturing reference group
  • agriculture reference group
  • construction and infrastructure reference group
  • major industries reference group
  • waste and recycling reference group.
