Health warnings removed July 2019

In June 2019 Coliban Water discharged treated wastewater to the Campaspe River outside of its licence conditions.

We issued a health warning for people using the Campaspe River downstream of the discharge point.

As a result of good flows in the Campaspe River and confirmation that Coliban Water was back in compliance with its discharge licence, this health warning was removed on 14 July 2019.

We consider that Coliban Water is at low risk of discharging outside its licence conditions in the near future. We based this assessment on our inspections and information provided to us by Coliban Water.

Although the health warning has been lifted we do not recommend drinking water from any river unless it has been appropriately treated.
