Hydrogeological assessment (groundwater quality) guidelines

The SEPP Groundwaters of Victoria (GoV) describes a Hydrogeological Assessment (HA) as a process to determine any existing groundwater contamination and resulting risk to beneficial uses of groundwater, and any potential risk to groundwater quality and beneficial uses. The HA is a systematic study of geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry and contamination at a site. An essential component of a HA is the development of a clear conceptual model of the hydrogeology, the contamination, and the potential human health and ecological risks.
