EPA’s use of injunctions as an enforcement tool

This policy sets out the approach of EPA to obtaining an injunction. An injunction is a court order which either restrains a party from doing, or compels them to do, a certain thing. In the context of this policy, such an injunction would restrain any person from contravening, or compel any person to comply with, the Environment Protection Act 1970 (EP Act) or any condition of a works approval, licence, permit or notice.
