When members of the community report litter to EPA we investigate and verify the report. We may also issue a fine.

Fines for littering

When someone reports littering from a vehicle, our enforcement officers will investigate and take action.
Examples of littering fines are:

  • $330 for a small piece of litter
  • $661 for a lit cigarette or burning litter.
