Infringement refund scheme

We launched an infringement refund scheme for individuals and businesses fined between June 2022 and September 2025.

This program applies to anyone whose fines or penalties were invalidated during that time.

The infringements are limited to:

  • Litter infringements
  • Vehicle infringements
  • Environmental infringements regarding the unlawful deposit of waste.

Key points about the refund scheme:

  • Eligibility: You must have received a letter from us stating that we invalidated your fine or penalty.
  • Application process: You can apply for a refund through our website.
  • Evidence required: You should have a letter from us with all the relevant information.
  • Timeframe: The refund scheme will be open for 12 months. It will allow those parties who have had their fines invalidated reimbursed.
  • Processing refund: If your refund claim request is approved, please allow approximately 4 weeks for processing as a direct deposit into your nominated bank account.
