Noise from outdoor shooting ranges - Guidelines

These guidelines provide recommended levels for gunshot noise from shooting ranges to assist councils assess the establishment of new ranges and changes to existing ranges. These guidelines can also be used in assessing noise complaints about existing and long established ranges and helping to determine acceptable outcomes in relation to shooting range noise. This publication consolidates the Interim Gunshot Noise Guidelines and the Using the Interim Gunshot Noise Guidelines so that the content is readily accessible in one place, without changing the intended environmental outcomes or obligations of shooting range operators.
