As an independent statutory authority under the Environment Protection Act 2017 (the Act), our role is to prevent and reduce harm from pollution and waste.

This guide explains how authorised officers (AO) use their powers of inspection and inquiry under the Act, including powers of entry, powers on entry and powers of inquiry.

It also describes the offences relating to, and how EPA will treat any interference to, an AO exercising these powers under the Act.
