EPA develops and reviews environmental policies and Regulations. We do this with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).

Our current work includes:

  • reviewing our environment protection policies for noise
  • reviewing our recycled water guidelines
  • reviewing urban stormwater best practice environmental management guidelines
  • subordinate legislation reform to support the new environment protection laws in 2021.

Subordinate legislation means a legal instrument made to support an Act. It can include Regulations, legislative instruments and compliance codes.

This work will help deliver modern, streamlined and accessible environmental standards. It will reflect the best available science, knowledge and evidence. We’ll consult with our stakeholders and the Victorian community to help shape our revised policies.
