EPA Victoria has fined the occupier of a Sunbury property $10,175 after an inspection found industrial waste was being burnt there.

Paul Attwell and his company Active Farming has been trucking in industrial waste as well as soil to the Riddell Rd farm. EPA officers, responding to community reports, inspected the property earlier this month and found industrial waste as well as evidence of the burn offs.

EPA has also issued Active Farming Pty Ltd with an Environmental Action Notice that requires the company to immediately cease accepting industrial waste, to immediately cease burning industrial waste and to remove all industrial waste by 30 January 2026.

EPA is aware that, following action by Hume City Council, VCAT ordered that the activity at the site, which has been causing concern in the community, must cease immediately.
