EPA Victoria has launched the consultation phase for the live music precincts.

Whether you’re a live music venue operator, live near one or a music goer, the EPA wants you to have your say. The consultation process has now opened and will continue until Friday 17 April 2026.

Live music venues play a vital role in Victoria’s culture. Following the review’s announcement late last year, EPA review is focused on the noise regulations that apply in live music precincts to better understand how they are working day to day for venues, nearby residents, councils and music goers.

The review is about listening to real world experiences and identifying where the rules could be clearer, fairer and more practical, while still protecting people’s amenity.

This work is part of two reviews currently underway to modernise noise rules for live music and outdoor events.

What we hear through this process will help inform any changes considered in the future to better support live music precincts and communities across Victoria.
