The Operating Licence was granted following the issuing of a Development Licence (formerly works approval) setting out the operating standards that must be met before operation can commence.
The ventilation systems are built to meet strict environmental standards. They will be continuously monitored to ensure they operate safely and effectively.
Air quality monitoring in the community is also in place to ensure the system operates within approved limits and protects community health.
As part of the licence conditions, the operator must submit annual reports to EPA assessing emissions, system performance and if further mitigation measures would be reasonably practicable.
These reports will include air and noise monitoring data that must be made publicly available within 30 days of submission.
The project will also publish raw air monitoring data on a daily basis and validated data on a monthly basis on Linkt’s website. Air data will be assessed against the Environment Reference Standard.
The conditions of their licence (OL0003000101), including discharge to air limits, can be found on the public register.
