Court orders made
Without conviction, ordered pursuant to s.67AC of the Act as follows.
1) Pursuant to s.67AC(2)(c) of the Environment Protection Act 1970, Willis & Palmer (Vic) Pty Ltd (“the Defendant”) is ordered to carry out the specified project as detailed below for the public benefit by paying $5,000 to the Friends of Tarra-Bulga National Park by 31 October 2008.
2) The payment must be used solely for the purpose of carrying out the following project.
Turra-Bulga National Park – Sycamore Maple eradication
This project aims to remove mainly Sycamore Maple but also Cherry Laurel and weeds near the Tarra-Bulga visitor centre, which is near the Park’s southern entrance on the Tarra Valley Road. The Friends of Tarra-Bulga National Park have made some progress, but the $5,000 will fund 10 days’ work by contractors to finish the job.
3) Within 14 days of making the payment, the Defendant must provide the Informant with proof thereof.
4) The Defendant is prohibited from referring to the payment or the projects without referring to these proceedings.
