When there's an incident, our role is as a technical support agency. We:
- provide technical and scientific information and advice
- provide air quality sampling and monitoring
- deploy incident air monitoring equipment
- report and give advice on the environmental impacts and health risks of pollution and waste – for example, smoke or poor water quality
- regulate and issue notices to businesses responsible.
