How we forecast air quality

The sources we use to forecast air quality and the areas our forecasts cover.

Our air quality forecast tells you what the air quality is likely to be over the next 24 hours.

We issue these forecasts daily from 5 pm on the Check air and water quality map. We may update the forecast more often if conditions change.

You can use our air quality forecasts to help plan your day. For example, if the forecast is for Poor air quality, you might choose not to exercise outside. This can reduce your exposure to air pollution and help protect your health.
