Professor Mark Patrick Taylor is Victoria's Chief Environmental Scientist. He is an internationally renowned expert on environmental contamination, and a strong advocate for environmental health.

The role of the Chief Environmental Scientist is to give advice to senior decision makers, including:

  • EPA’s leadership team
  • the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change
  • Victoria’s Chief Health Officer.

EPA’s Governing Board appoints the Chief Environmental Scientist as part of the Environment Protection Act 2017.
