EPA’s new website is under construction. It contains links to our previous site while we add information.

EPA gives guidance on planning proposals which may have pollution or waste impacts on:

  • the environment
  • amenity
  • human health.

This is so councils and planning authorities can comply with the Planning and Environment Act 1987.

Our guidance includes:

  • how we assess planning proposals for compliance
  • why and when to get EPA’s advice
  • what impact your planning proposal may have on the environment, amenity or human health
  • policies and guidelines for planning under the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
