EPA gives guidance on planning proposals which may have pollution or waste impacts on:

  • the environment
  • amenity
  • human health.

This is to support planning or responsible authorities giving consideration to environment protection when making decisions under the Planning and Environment Act 1987.

Our guidance includes:

  • how we assess planning proposals for compliance
  • why and when to seek EPA’s advice
  • what impact a planning proposal may have on the environment, amenity or human health
  • policies and guidelines to consider when making decisions under the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
