For isolated or short-term issues with the system, hardware or connectivity, you can:
- temporarily record offline
- call us on 1300 372 842 if you cannot record offline.
Drivers and site receivers can try both the portal and the Waste Tracker mobile app (Google Play and Apple App Store) to see if they’re working.
If there is an outage that is likely to continue for more than 1 day, we'll move to an offline form system.
Temporarily record offline
For isolated or short-term issues with the system, hardware or connectivity, try to capture a screenshot or photo of what’s happening.
Record information about the waste and its transport using the Waste record template for waste drivers and receivers.
Record the following waste information:
- unique identifier (waste record ID or invoice/job number)
- waste producer’s name and location
- waste classification and description
- amount of waste
- transporter, driver and vehicle details
- waste receiver's name and location
- what time the waste was picked up and dropped off by the driver
- intended treatment or disposal category of the waste.
Give this information to the next person in the supply chain. This makes sure you both meet your waste duties.
Enter the information into Waste Tracker as soon as you have access again.
When you cannot record offline
Call us on 1300 372 842 if you cannot record offline – for example:
- you have not started a waste record for the waste transport
- a producer, transporter or receiver needs more information or assurance.
We collect the information and give you a reference number to use. In these circumstances, we enter this information into Waste Tracker for you.
During longer-term outages
We will contact you by email if the issue is likely to continue for longer than 1 day.
We temporarily move to an offline form system. This is similar to the system used during outages of the previous electronic waste transport certificate system.
Producers or transporters call us to get a form and reference number emailed to them.
Producers, transporters and receivers:
- record the information on the form
- email it to other parties
- send us a copy.
We’ll enter the information into Waste Tracker when the system is available.
If Waste Tracker becomes available again before the waste has reached the receiver, you can complete the waste record using the form. You can also enter the information into Waste Tracker, tell us, and we cancel the form. If you do this, record the reference number on the form in the 'additional information' field in Waste Tracker. Then the manual waste record is accounted for, and we don’t need to follow up with you about the waste.
