You can apply to us for an extension of time to comply with a remedial notice we issued to you.
If your local council issued the remedial notice, you should contact them.
Apply to extend or amend your remedial notice
You can apply if you're:
- the person named in the remedial notice
- a person authorised to apply on their behalf.
You need to provide:
- the reason why you're seeking an extension or amendment
- information or evidence to support your explanation.
To help us make a decision, show that:
- you are making all efforts to comply with the notice
- factors beyond your control are stopping you from complying – for example, weather is holding up critical works
Tell us if changing one or more of the requirements in the notice will:
- make it easier for you to comply
- better manage or control risks
- give better long-term results – for example, if you could achieve a lot more with more time.
If you cannot apply online or you need help to apply, contact us on 1300 372 842.
We let you know the outcome of your application within 5 business days of receiving it.
You must continue to comply with your remedial notice until we let you know it has changed.
