Farm World is one of Victoria’s premier agricultural shows and Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) will again have a team on site to talk to farmers, businesses and the community.

Drop in at the EPA marquee to hear about Victoria’s new environmental legislation, get advice on your specific circumstances and learn more about how you can meet your responsibilities to the environment and your community.

EPA will have members of its water and citizen science teams available to show how you can get involved in science in your community, and how EPA contributes to water quality monitoring in the Gippsland Lakes.

Farm World is on from Thursday 24 March to Sunday 27 March, at Lardner Park, Warragul, and EPA is pleased to be a part of this major regional event.

EPA is keen to meet and speak to farmers and farming advisors about what information they need to help manage impacts to the environment from their operations and understand their environmental responsibilities.

As a new opportunity for 2022, EPA’s Chief Environmental Scientist, Professor Mark Patrick Taylor will be there on Thursday and Friday to talk to members of the community about local issues in their area.

“We’re looking forward to meeting as many people from the sector as possible at this great event. Come visit us at stand 235,” Professor Taylor said.

“EPA’s Gippsland officers work particularly close with the farming industry and dairy farmers, as an important part of the region. The Victorian dairy industry is responsible for a large section of Australia’s milk supply, and most the nation’s processed dairy products and dairy exports,” he said.

“Ensuring a viable future for the Victorian dairy industry means producing milk in a sustainable, lawful and safe way,” he said.

“This is a terrific opportunity to talk to us directly about the specific issues that matter to your own situation. And it’s a great day out, so head on down and look for us at site number 235.”
