Using this guide
This guide provides an outline of the requirements that apply to noise from wind turbines under the Environment Protection Regulations 2021 (EP Regulations). It is intended to assist wind energy facility (WEF) operators decide what best suits their specific circumstances to manage the risks from turbine noise emissions to prevent harm to human health and the environment. The guide provides information on:
- noise management plans (NMP)
- annual statements
- periodic monitoring.
This guidance does not impose compliance obligations. It is designed to provide information to help you understand your obligations under the Environment Protection Act 2017 (EP Act). It forms part of the State of Knowledge about the general environmental duty (GED) relating to noise pollution from WEFs
