Drivers can assign a vehicle, pick up, drop off or reject waste in the app. This guide explains how to pick up a waste record in the app.

Step one: Log in

Log in to the EPA portal mobile app.

Step two: My waste records

Once you login you’ll be taken straight to the 'my waste records' home screen. You’ll see a list of all your assigned waste records.

You can use the search bar to search for all active individual records. You can use the search bar even in offline mode.

The magnifying glass brings up the advanced search. This allows you to search for individual records by producer name, pick up address, nominated receiver, drop off location and waste code instead.

Tip: If you’re picking up a waste record from a grouped waste record, you can either:

  • type the waste record ID into the Search all active grouped records search, or
  • select the Grouped records tab to find it in the list.

Step three: Find waste record

To find individual waste record IDs assigned to you, type the record number into the 'waste record ID' search bar, find it in the active records worklist or use the advanced search function.

Step four: Waste transporter

Once you’re in the waste record, click 'enter vehicle details'.

You won’t be able to action anything in your waste record until you add or update the vehicle details. Refer to add vehicle details

Step five: Confirm you understand data collection by EPA

Review the record and tick the box to confirm you understand that EPA collects the information you enter about the pick-up and drop off of this waste load.

Step six: Select active record ID to pick up waste

Select 'pick up waste' to pick up the waste.

Enter the amount and units of waste you’re picking up.

If the waste is in packages, select yes and enter number of packages when prompted.

If there is a discrepancy in the waste record, or if the waste was taken to a different receiver, choose the relevant discrepancy from the drop-down menu.

Include any additional information if relevant.

Click 'submit' to pick up the waste.

Tip: EPU stands for Equivalent Passenger units. It is a unit of measurement that converts tyres into standard passenger car tyres.

Step Seven: Confirmation

A confirmation screen will appear to confirm you’ve picked up the individual waste record. In the waste driver work list, you’ll see its status has changed from 'assigned' to 'in-transit'.
